First time sending a letter

Hi everyone,
I've been looking around the website for a few days now and finally decided to sign up
Anyway since I stumble across the site I've been thinking about trying to send a letter or two out.
Is it really as easy as it sounds?
I write a short letter saying I'm a fan and asking for an autograph? include a SASE?(I think that's right)
And just wait pretty much? Would it help if I included a photo or does it just depend on who I'm sending it too?
One last question too. Sorry
If I'm hoping to get a picture back how big of an envelope should I included?
Sorry for all the questions.
And I was hoping to send a letter to Evangeline Lilly, if that helps at all.

Hey ahall88nhl!
Welcome to the forum

Yes, it is!

We have members here who sends requests every few days!

I personally send a few every month though, it's completely up to you how often you do it

It's just a matter of writing a letter, getting some envelopes and maybe printing some photos!

Your letter should be no longer than 1 side of A4, my letters are 1 vertical side of A5 but that's because my writing is quite small

SASEs (Self Addressed Stamped Envelopes) should increase your chances of getting a quicker response, if you can include it, include it!

Yes you just wait patiently, Evangeline Lilly is a very good signer and on average she'll get back to you within 2-4 months!

If you're sending your own photo then your envelope should be bigger than your photo

If you're not, this is the size of the
picture she sends back
Good luck! {thumb2}

thanks for the quick response!
I'll probably try mailing it out later today now.
I think I'm going to get a stock pile of envelopes today.
The only autographs I have are on hockey cards. lol
And one from Ted Lindsay on his book, even got to shake his hand and talk to him for a bit.
Well anyway thanks again! and hopefully this is a start of a new hobby for me.

Hi everyone,
Hello, welcome to fanmail.biz!
I've been looking around the website for a few days now and finally decided to sign up
Anyway since I stumble across the site I've been thinking about trying to send a letter or two out.
Is it really as easy as it sounds?
Yes its pretty easy, especially if your sending to someone in your own country. Sending overseas can be a bit trickier
I write a short letter saying I'm a fan and asking for an autograph? include a SASE?(I think that's right)
Yes send a ssae. its more polite that you pay postage and increases your chances of a reply
And just wait pretty much?
Yes wait at least 3 months before sending another request
Would it help if I included a photo or does it just depend on who I'm sending it too?
Celebs usually have photos to send but if you send VV you probably need to send a photo as they dont carry them around with them. It increases your chances of a reply. And obviously if you want a specific photo signed then you will have to send it
One last question too. Sorry
If I'm hoping to get a picture back how big of an envelope should I included?
I send C5 envelopes as the photos celebs send are usually 6x4 or 7x5
Sorry for all the questions.
And I was hoping to send a letter to Evangeline Lilly, if that helps at all.
Good luck

Thank you for responing too, EastendersFan
So I should send two C5 envelopes right?
One for them to send the photo back to me in and one to fit it in to mail to them?
Sorry if that sounds stupid but I just want to make sure. I tend to make simple things hard. lol
