Does anyone go with the aim of collecting autographs? I haven't ever tried to get someone's autograph at a premiere... I'm not the best at it even if it's a book signing.

I think film festivals can potentially be a great place to meet celebrities because not only do the celebrities come with their film, but often times many other celebrities who do not have films premiering show up! Sometimes even those filming in the city will come out (possibly a friend is in it or they just want a night out.) So, it definitely can be a great way to meet celebrities and get autographs!
To answer your question though, I do go to film festivals merely to meet celebrities, get autographs and possibly a photo with them. Not because I wouldn't love to see some of the films that do come (as I have in past years) but its just very expensive for a student and trying to schedule a screening between class schedules is difficult. (Somehow its not difficult to fit in meeting celebrities though

)
You should definitely go to a premiere if you're ever given a chance. Even just to experience something like that is quite something!

Hi Larisie
Yeah, tickets are needlessly expensive. I haven't been to a festival screening in a good few years.
I just wondered because I might pop along to a couple of these & see if I can spot anybody, and put my autograph book to good use.

You should definitely, if the opportunity arises, go try to get autographs at premieres! While you're not always successful, the experience is great and the more you go the more you learn as to where the best spots are to stand and things like that.

I haven't, but many people do! It's a good time to get many autographs in one go and to get IP successes.
