Via venue question

I have sent lots of letters via venue for movies and tv shows but never for a musician only playing one night at a venue,I was just wondering how early before the show should i send the letter and should i write please hold for (artist name) and date of when they are playing?

I always write "please hold for..."
I live in Poland and when I send letters to the USA 6-8 days before concert. But I don't know how it is in Canada.

Thanks,Yeah i guess since i live in canada and the concert is in canada i will send it about a week before.

Hi, wonder if you have ever gotten any VV successes? I live in Germany and I sent letters about 10-12 days before the concert, but I never got anything back so far, although I included photos, SASE, etc!

I think it's really mean, if they keep the stuff or throw just it away!
Even if the celebrity cannaot sign my stuff, which is understandable, they could still return it, even if it's unsigned!
