Photo Question

So I tried to print off a bunch of photos, varying from Dumbledore to Adam West, at Sam's Club but they told me (after they had printed them, haha) that I had to have a "release" to have these pictures. How do y'all normally print off your pictures? I'm going to assume that you don't write to every movie studio to request permission.

Thanks.

I print them off at home on my computer printer on high quality, glossy photo paper I bought at Staples. You can buy really cheap ones at Walmart. I think mine cost $30 and included both color and b/w ink.

I had that same issue recently, after they printed them, I couldn't have them because of some copyright issue or something. They said they couldn't sell it to me. But it was with Walgreens and not Sam's Club.

Anyway after that, I just bought them online and haven't had a problem.

I use snapfish.com and shutterfly.com

that's mainly because I don't have a photo printer and I like getting them professionally done.

Well, it depends on your store. Technically, you ARE supposed to have a photo release to re-print photos especially of celebrities. I use my local Sams Club and haven't had a problem. Others love Wal-Mart, but I had them refuse my photos.

You could try another store in your area or print them off on your computer.

thanks y'all. i've ordered the same pics at a different Sam's Club, this time also inserting some personal photos as well. Maybe it'll fool them, haha.

Technically, you need a release to have them printed at any store, but some places just don't really care so they'll let you get away with it. I've also noticed virtually every online printing shop (Snapfish, Photoworks, Kodak, etc) don't seem to care either.
