HOW HEAVY IS LETTER & SASE in envelope?

how heavy is a letter with an sase only inside a regular letter envelope (4x9)???????? Would it be 1 ounce or 2??!

It should be just one ounce. I have sent a letter, 9X12 SASE in a 6X9 and it weighs exactly one ounce.
