Do you simply put it in the letterbox like you would with mail in your own country?

I would assume so. The postman will bring it to the local post office to have it processed and sent off!

Ok thank you! I am about to send of something to a member here, so I thought I should just make sure!

As long as you have the full address (incl. country of course) and the correct amount of stamps then you can drop it in the post box Best to write "Par avion / by airmail" on the top left too.

My post office said if it's a 10X13 envelope or smaller then it's fine to just mail it along, but if it's anything bigger or in a box then you need to fill out a customs form.
