How many stamps for UK to USA?

Unread post by dfreely »

I've been buying IRCs this entire time and I just realized most of my international requests are headed for the UK, and buying UK stamps would really save me money..

So, how many stamps would it take to send a 9x12 envelope with a 8x10 inside from the UK to the USA?

You would need 1.35 in postage: I have used second class stamps on my SASE for an 8X10 which are worth .30 each so I used 5.

Hope this helped. {thumb2}

So looking at Royal Mail's charts, it would be 40g (1.4 oz) then? Lighter than I would've thought.
What's the difference between first and second class stamps?

Thanks BossC.

I think a 8X10 and envelope would weight about a ounce so that should be right.

As for the difference between first and second class UK stamps, I have no idea. :oops: Look for one of the moderators from the UK (Paigey is in the UK I think) and pm them.
