Sending to a venue, need help!
Hello,
I'm sorry if similar to this has been asked, I have looked at the sticky and for other related threads but not really found anything. If I've missed somthing I'm sorry! :)
I'm trying to request an autograph from an actor who I know is currently at the Birmingham Hippodrome, and will be there until the 12th September this year. Is this enough time to get a request to him, or should I hold out until he is at the next venue in Bristol, where he will be for over a month?
Also, I know it is recommened that if you're sending to a venue you should send your own photo, so can this literally be any photo you've scanned or printed from the internet nicely on photographic paper, or is there any copyright implications etc if you take a photo from the internet/ is the person you're writing to likely to not sign it if you've printed a photograph you don't have rights to?
Thanks, and as you can probably tell I've never tried this before so all help is appreciated ;)
Emma

Hey:)
It depends where you live. I live in Poland and I send letters to the USA 8-10 days before concert. It's better when it's set production because you have more time. They make some movie few months. When it's in Europe I sent 6-8 days before show. And when it's in my country I need 2-4 days.
I always find photos in the internet. And I've never had a problem with that. My photos always back signed (I don't think about situations when celebs send PP autograph).
Hope that helps and I'm sorry for my English...

Hi Emma,
Welcome to Fanmail.biz!
Is it an actor from We Will Rock You the musical on tour by any chance? It is best if you can send a picture, as often on tours where people aren't at venues for very long they won't have photos with them. Alternatively you can ask for a signed show flyer.
Photos - most pictures from the internet are copyrighted, but only very few celebrities will not sign a picture because of that.
I think you should be ok if you send as soon as possible, but if not you can always send to the next venue.
Good luck! Really hope you are successful. {thumb2}

Re: Sending to a venue, need help!
Thank you for the welcome!
Yes it is an actor from the WWRY tour
! Jonathan Wilkes, lol, I saw him as Khassoggi recently, and missed him at stage door!
If I wanted to go for the flyer option, should I send a flyer (I did pick up a couple luckily), or is it normal for them to be provided ?
Thanks so much

Oh right I thought it must be! I hope to see it later in the year as I think it comes nearer to me, would you recommend the show? I would send a flyer if you have one just to make it as easy as possible to get a reply - and occasionally shows run out of flyers so it's probably best to include one. You should include an SASE to cover return postage too if possible. Flyers look so great signed as well!EhSs01 wrote:Thank you for the welcome!

Re: Sending to a venue, need help!
Thanks
I've sorted out a s+a envelope, now it's just the flyer I have to find!
+ I really do recommend it, it is by far the best musical performance I've seen- the whole cast was brilliant, and so nice afterwards at stagedoor, and the humour in it and audience reaction to some of the songs was amazing. I'm going to try and catch it again, probably in Bristol because I think the cast changes after that.

Thank you for the review! Did you meet Ashley Russell by any chance, afterwards?

Re: Sending to a venue, need help!
No I didn't meet Ashley, but she was playing Killer Queen the night I went not Brenda, but the rest of the cast at stage door said we missed her too
. It was my first time "stagedooring" and I got lost looking for the door and arrived late so I missed alot of people! But I thought she was great, and had a lot to live up to because I imagine Brenda Edwards to fit the role perfectly, but she was brilliant!

Oh that's a shame you missed Ashley, would love to meet her! Next time if you go to see it again at Bristol you could perhaps check where the stage door is before the show - I do that now to avoid a last minute hurry! Good luck if you do go again and thanks so much for the review on the show.EhSs01 wrote:No I didn't meet Ashley, but she was playing Killer Queen the night I went not Brenda, but the rest of the cast at stage door said we missed her too.
