Hi,
I am going to start collecting autographs, first of all I am from Malta.
Could you please help me, for what to put in the envelopes, as I am getting mixed up ?
As I want to when I send a letter I would write kindly in the last paragraph so maybe the celebs will sign me the photo I will include / or they will send me one.
Usually, In Malta for example : Twilight is not so popular, instead of printing a pic maybe of Kristen Stewart I am going to take it to Kodak or FUJI and they could do it to me as a photograph ( Photo Digital Printing ) Do you think it is best as the picture to be as GLOSSY or MATTE ?
Thankyou alot

I would appreciate all of your help
Hugs, Maxine.

Hey Maxine! Welcome to the hobby
What you need for your envelope is an SASE (Self Addressed Stamped Envelope) and if you're planning to write to the USA, you need to get yourself some US stamps. (Try the selling/trade forum here!) You also need your fan letter and your photo. I always have mine printed on glossy paper. I think they look nicer and as most stars sign in sharpie, you don't need to worry about the ink leaking. It's up to you though, whichever you prefer is just fine!
Hope this has helped and good luck {thumb2}

When printing at digital photo stores, I tend to prefer matte photos. Sharpies will be fine with either glossy or matte (I think margotchanning was referring to problems you'd have with leakage if you printed photos yourself on regular printing paper). I like matte photos because you dont get as much glare as you do with the glossy ones. It's up to you though, perhaps go in and see which ones you prefer

Yes that's what I meant! As long as you print high quality, either matte or glossy is fine! I got a very low quality, glossy print from Lou Hirsche a couple of years ago and the ink bled so bad it doesn't even look signed any more!

It really does pay to get your photo's printed on kodak or fuji paper if you want your autographs to last {thumb2}
