I was wondering what you nomally write if you send a letter or a little note? For me, I mention that I'm a big fan and maybe my favorite song if it's a singer! What do you write? Also, do you send an autograph or ask for an autograph? Thanks!-Jordanataylor

Most of the people I write to are actors or actresses. I talk about how much I liked them in specific roles (something like, "You were so good in [movie]! You had me sobbing during scene X; it was so wonderfully acted!") I want these people to know that I am a genuine fan and not just someone searching for an autograph to sell.

That's basically what I did... I appreciate the feedback! :) Do you type your letters or write them?

I hand write all of my letters. There was a post somewhere else on the forum in which someone said that they typed letters to a number of celebrities and received no response. The person then handwrote letters to the same people and received several autographs.

I believe that it adds a personal touch. Also, if they are willing to take the time to hand write a response to me (even if it is just a signature), then they least I could do is hand write a letter to them.

I have heard of people with plenty of success sending typed letters, so it is really up to you.

I type all of mine and explain that my handwriting is hard to read. This allows me to use a template that I can customize to fit the person(s) that I am writing to -- and greatly speeds up the process of composing a letter. I think I have a very high success rate and can't think of a single instance where someone got a celeb that I didn't get because mine was typed, and to-date I have received 125 autographs ttm in 4 months.

I think that including an item to be signed, including a SASE, handwriting the envelopes, and using traditional stamps are much more influential on your success rates.
