IRC problems

Unread post by frelina »

hi everybody!! I'm a new here, please don't get nervous,'cause I may ask stupid questions ) I live in Ukraine and want to send a letter to the UK. I have never heard of these IRCs before. Can I buy them in Ukraine at the post office or only online? And should I put any stamps on self-adressed envelope if I have IRCs?
Thanks for your time and patience ) waiting for replies.

PS is it better to type or to write by hand, how do you think?)

Hi frelina!

Welcome to the forum! I can help you with your second question. I highly reccomend handwritng all your requests for Autographs. I've written to many celebrities and asked them which they prefer better and all but one said they love handwritten fan letters. {up} The one that prefered typed was an elderly gentleman who has a hard time reading handwritten ones and made it easier on him if they were typed.

Handwritten letters shows much more character and emotion, I know some who celebs actually keep the handwritten ones in a special folder to go back and read again later. {up}

Hope that helps you!

IRC's should be available at your local post office. If you send IRC's with your request you don't have to put stamps on the Self Addressed Envelope (SAE).
As far as hand written or typed requests, I think hand written is better in most cases, unless you have horrible hand writing. ;)

Most likely you will only receive a signed picture. Some celebrities will write something back, but it's kind of rare.

Some celebs will. I've gotten over 45 handwritten replies back. to make my chances better I've begun to send along little Q&A cards (Question & Answer) for them to fill out. It's basically a card with questions on it and all they have to do is fill in the answers. keeps them from having to sit down and write a long repsonse back and there more willing to fill it out too. {up}

yeah, these cards are a good idea) thanks ) though of course I wanted to get a full letter, not just a test with answer, I understand they are too busy to write everybody back. perhaps you should say smth special to awake an interest in a person. but it seems that with stars it is impossible)

Hello )
I have another question - do I need to write my adress on the envelope I send to a celebrity or only on a back-one?

Yes, You'll want to put your return address in the upper left corner, just in case the address your sendng to may no longer be valid, the post office knows who to send it back to.

It's also a good idea to put your return address in both spots on the SASE (Sender & Receiver) to lessen the odds that the postman may swipe your mail if he realizes there may be autographs inside by seeing a celebrities name in the corner. :?

Hope that helps you!

Thanks a lot, I put both addresses at the envelope which is directed to the celebrity, but on the SASE I put only mine and nothing in free space where the address of the receiver)
