Can I recycle these stamps?

I just wanna ask if I can recycle the stamps that aren't cancelled?

It's supposedly illegal to re-use unfranked stamps but I'm pretty positive everyone does it anyway ;) would be a waste to bin them.

It is technically illegal, so whether you should, is another debate entirely.

i just found couple of stamps too, actually some of em u can easily clean with finger and it looks like new
btw do u guys just crop em and stick to the letter or carefully take off the paper.
i dnt know why it can be illegal because post office must stamp all of em

Its not "apparently" illegal.
Its not "technically" illegal.
It IS illegal.
You can't dress it up. Its illegal, its against the law, its a federal offence. Fact.

It seems a matter of honesty to me. I recieve quite a few stamps that have not been cancelled or franked (not bobed, steved or eded either). The post office does not need my money that bad, but my personal integrity should cost more than 44 cents.
