Is it okay to cheat to the post office?
Here's the scenario, last week I sent mails to our P.O and they charge me the postage for 100 grams besides my mails are just 20 grams below (I weigh them in our digital scale). I am very mad to them and I want to make revenge. LOL
Here's my plan, I will remove the photo/s first in the envelope to make it lighter and fall under 20 grams then seal them. Bring them to the post office to buy stamps. After that, I will gently reseal the envelope and stuff another photo/s. Is it okay or I will be punished if they caught me doing that?
Thanks

Dont do this...and you do know that its a federal crime...and what if they did this by accident..you would be "giving revenge" for no reason..and i always think that revenge is for immature teenagers..if your a teenage take the good route and let it go...you dont wanna make a mountain out of a little mole hill..do the right thing..

Dont know how the US postal system works but if you were to do that in the UK the letter would end up with a fee to pay by the person who recieves it, the royal mail charges the missing postage plus a £1 handling fee for items which do not have the correct postage for their weight.
Its not a good idea because a. you might get into trouble - is it worth it really?? And b. if the person your sending to gets asked to pay a fee they may decide to refuse delivery of the item and you would get it back via return to sender so it would have been a waste of you stamps.

Lol "federal crime" is a tad melodramatic, I would not call it a crime. I am all for revenge/sticking it to the government, but the problem is that it does not really cost them, only you! Because the celeb your writing to will have to chip in money which they might refuse.

No it's not true in the slightest It would be classified as a misdemeanour at very, very worst. Most likely they would simply not deliver it. No crime, no punishment. Just a simple RTS

In this case, as the post office is not the only place that postage is checked, they'd assume you didnt put enough on and would ask the recipient to pay for it. If they refuse, you'd get an RTS.
Never mind the fact that it's incredibly immature, and you're "punishing" perhaps one or two employees in a way that doesnt even work (it's not like you not paying enough postage will affect them).

Trying to get postage without paying for it is still a crime. It's fraud. Whether they bother to punish you (and if you get caught) for it is another matter.
