If I write to a NBA team ...

Unread post by KaDaWe »

I have two NBA autograph request question:

1. If I write to a player/coach without a picture/index card/etc, what send they to me?

2. If I request of one team more than one autographs, do they send the autographs of all players that I request?

Hi KaDaWe!

I'm going to try and answer your questions :)

1. If I write to a player/coach without a picture/index card/etc, what send they to me?

They may not send you anything. Some celebrities will not send you an autograph unless you send them something to autograph. Some may send you an autographed photo. It really depends on the person. I'd suggest you check out the feedback on that person to see how others got successes. One thing to always include is a SASE.

2. If I request of one team more than one autographs, do they send the autographs of all players that I request?

I don't quite get what you're asking here. Are you planning on sending a general letter to the stadium to ask for autographs? I'd write to each athlete individually. I think that way you'd have a better chance of receiving a few autographs. Usually if you just send a general letter to the stadium/arena itself, you'd just receive a fan pack in return (which most do not include autographs, just info on the team).

Hope that helps some!

First, do your research to see if they sign. Or just take your chances.

Never expect a sports personality to scramble around looking for something to sign for you. Always include at least a card or photo for them to sign. Some people do what are called floorboards for basketball. Might be worth looking into, since they look real neat signed.

Don't expect someone to scramble around trying to get people to sign for you. Send to each player individually. Most players will resent someone writing to them and being asked to get someone else's autograph.

Always include an SASE, too.

You might also want to consider sending to someone trustworthy to get some 50/50s done for you. This is good for the guys that don't sign TTM but do sign IP. You send two cards, the other person gets them both signed and sends one back to you.

Finally, do your research. Did I mention that?

Thanks to your posts!!! Ok, now I know I should always send something to them and I should write always only to one player - that was my questions. :D
