Postage UK-USA/USA-UK

I wondered if anyone else was having problems with postage from UK-USA and vice versa.

I have now sent 3 letters to USA (Daniel Craig, Playbill to A Steady Rain and Catherine Zeta Jones) and not received anything back. Maybe this is a coincidence and stars haven't sent back and I should just be patient but for Catherine for example I sent in late December and people have received successes back sending well after then.

Any help or anyone having same problems?

I am from the UK and I often send to the US.

Did you send an SAE or stamps? I think via venue addresses you will have little or no luck unless you send them an envelope with the correct postage. The amount of mail they must get, they probably want to send things with as little trouble as possible, and if they have to buy the envelope and stamps, they probably won't bother.

With individual actors, not at a vv address, you could probably risk sending dollars and an envelope. That has worked many, many times for me.

I have sent many time to VV venues before and always sent correct postage with as SASE. In past I have received signed playbills and successes from Will Ferrell, Angela Lansbury etc but all of a sudden whenever I sent I never received anything back? That's why I thought there may be something wrong with postage but was unsure . . . Thanks for your help Johnny's Fan; when was the last time you received a letter from US (Fanmail)

Hmm... well that is odd then. I know there were a few people who didn't get their pictures back from Daniel Craig, even though people were still receiving things from him in January, well after A Steady Rain finished. I suppose you could have been one of the unlucky few.

I know in early Novemeber I think it was, playbills for A Steady Rain pretty much stopped dead, as they were selling them for charity on Broadway, so I believe that is why no more were sent out for free. When did you send your playbill request?

As for Catharine Zeta Jones. The first few replies from her were actually pre-prints and then the later successes were genuine, so maybe up until a certain point any letters she received, she didn't bother with. And then when she decided she had the time, she concentrated on new requests. I think you should definitely try her again, as there is still time and there have been a lot back from her recently.

I think you may just have been very unlucky, and maybe your timing was unfortunate.

Well I got something back from the US last week, but the last playbill was in December from Angela Lansbury.

I hope you have better luck in the future. :D
