I have a bunch of questions:

1) I have 6x9 envelopes. Is that ok?

2) I want a playbill and an autograph from the person. Can I write to the stage manager and put a picture for one of the actresses to sign. Or can i write to one of the actresses and have her sign a picture and ask for a playbill for only the actress to sign?

Hi!

Lets see if I can help you out a bit. :)

To answer your first question - yes, a 6x9 envelope is the perfect size for your SASE. A Playbill fits perfectly in one.

The answer to your second question:
~If you want the whole cast to sign a Playbill, then write to the Stage Manager and ask for a cast-signed Playbill.

~If you want one particular person to sign something, then address the envelope specifically to that person. Be sure to include a picture, as almost all of the performers on Broadway don't have pictures or things to sign readily available.

~If you want one particular person to sign a Playbill, then address your letter to that person, and ask them for a signed Playbill. Just be sure to include a 6x9 envelope for your SASE for the Playbill to fit in.

Hope that helped.

Yes, 6x9 envelopes work perfect for Playbills. {up} If you want an autograph and a playbill signed by just the one person, write to them directly. And at the bottom ask if she can send you a signed playbill as well as sign your photo. Will Ferrell did this when he had his play. He'd sign people's photos and those who sent a 6x9 envelope or larger would get a signed playbill as well. {up}

Hope that helps you!!

Hi Countrygirl,

If you are requesting a playbill you might want to consider putting at least 61 cents on the SASE. Playbills tend to weigh over 1 ounce and sometimes up to 3 ounces. I know many members have gotten successes with only 1 stamp but according to the USPS it costs more.

Good luck with your request! :D

Hope it helped! Best of luck with whoever you write to!

If you have any other questions just feel free to ask. We're all here to help.

And I do typically put 65cents or so postage on my SASEs for Playbills.

If you have questions about via venue (VV) just ask - I send a lot of letters VV.
