yes, if you can get it off the envelope, I see no reason it not to use it

There's no problem in re-using stamps that haven't been postmarked, it's just a matter of being able to get them off in the first place.

Try cutting the area of the envelope where the stamp is and soaking it in water (preferably warm.) After a while the stamp will either float off the part of the envelope or it will be easy enough for you to peel the stamp off without much hesitatation. If you can't get it off the first time, leave it to soak for longer and try again. Finally, let the stamp dry on some absorbent paper or a tea-towel (or similar) face-side down.

Hi Courtney :D

Yes, it's perfectly alright to re-use stamps that haven't been canceled. You don't have to soak them in water. Just cut the area around the stamps out and then tape them to the new envelope.

I have gotten several responses back where the stamps are not canceled out. You can reuse them. I cut them off of the envelope as close to the stamp as possible without cutting the fringed part. I then use a glue stick and glue them onto the new envelope. I think glue is better than tape. I once had put tape on it, and the mail man told me you shouldn't do that and they could refuse it. I don't know if that is true or not, but since then I have been using a glue stick and have had no problems. Good luck!

I never thought of using glue. That would be better than tape. The ting with tape is, that you can't cover the stamps. You have to cut a large enough area so that you can tape the extra area down and not cover the stamps. I once mailed out close to 10 letters this way. It won't be refused if the tape isn't covering the stamps.

I have been using the same envelope that I keep sending to Rebecca Herbst for about 3 or four times now and the stamps are never cancelled. So I just carefully open the envelope and reuse it :D
