Mailing a Book???

Unread post by t-cards »

Hi, I want to mail a book and photo's to a celeb but how do I go about preparing a SASE so that the photos and book would not get damaged? I have been struggling over ideas and I just want to hear other peoples advice:) Thanks again.

You'll have to send the book in a padded bubble mailer and place the photos you want signed as well inside the front cover of the book. For return you'll need to send another padded mailer SASE. It would work the best if you got a bigger padded mailer for the sending envelope and a smaller one (But still big enough to hold the book) so you wouldn't have to bend it, which it would make the whole package extra bulky and cost more postage.

Hope that helps!! BTW, Who are you sending the book out to? Is it a fairly large book?

Perfect question for me! :)

I have mailed the whole book and 99.9% out of the time got them back signed and personlized saftely with no damage. i got Donald trump...ivanka trump..bob barker..larry king..alan alda..john mcenroe..and joan rivers. all i do is put the book is a regular 9 by 12 or larger envleope, yes it does fit in most books. but the postage is ALOT and you have to include a SASE. but it worth it to me. i only lost 1 book but 5/6 is not bad {up} my recent book i got back was alan alda "things i think about when talking to myself". im going to buy raquel welch book to mail soon! 8)

I would also go the padded envelope route myself, but I would consider using just a manila envelope to send it. If you put the book inside the padded SASE, that should provide it with enough protection going both ways.

Another thing to keep in mind is that sending books qualifies for Media Mail. Depending on the size and weight of your book, you could save money using Media Mail instead of First Class.

Hi Everybody, The only problem I have with this is that packages weighing over 13 ounces need to be taken to the post office............ The book I am sending is 2 pounds ( hardcover) so I went to the post office today and got a cushioned envelope with pre-paid priority postage. It cost me 6.00 which was not to bad. Then what I decided to do since the photos I am sending are 8x10's ( Two of them) I am going to include a seperate SASE for them because the book is heavy and I do not want to risk getting it bent. And then all of that stuff including the book is going in a small box or bubble envelope. What do you think? This will be my first time that I am sending a book to a celebratity but I bought the book new off amazon.com :) I am really excited.
I put two sticky notes on each SASE explaining what each one is for.
I hope i did not right thing I would love to know what you think.

Okay, that should work since you labeled both with sticky notes so they know what to do. {up} Best of luck with your request!! :D
