Postage from London to the U.S.

Hi,

I have a 9x12 yellow envelope that weighs 100 grams. I need to find out what the postage on it would be from London back to me in the U.S. so I can create an SASE. I see where I can print postage from the Royal Mail website. The envelop is flat as it just has a thin piece of cardboard and 2 8x10s in it.

I see on the Royal Mail site that Airmail letters are 3.04 pounds and Airmail Printed Papers are 1.82 pounds.....

Anyone know if I'm looking at the right thing?

Thanks!

I think you'll find this website very useful: PRICE FINDER <<arrow$
It should cost you £3.04.

P.S.: You were looking at the right thing ;)

Do you know what the difference is between "small packets and printed papers" and "letters" as shown in this chart?

Can I ask where you got the stamps from? I've been trying to find some for myself for a while.

Sorry, I don't know it :/

Stamps can be ordered from their website...This was once posted on CelebAutos (written by Rottie):
i have phoned the royal mail online shop for you today
you can buy stamps direct from the royal mail shop to be sent
direct to you in germany , or anywhere else in europe/world
but you can only buy the special edition collectors stamps
these are in sheets of 30 or 60 1st class stamps.

follow these steps
http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/shop?catId=9300091

click on Collecting & Phillately (left hand column)
click on Special Stamp Issues (left hand column)
click on British Design Classics (left hand Column)
click on Stamp Sheet
it then gives you the choice of 30 or 60 stamps
just add to your basket
go to check out
select the delivery charge =eu airmail £1.55 rest of world £2.15
then pay for them
delivery is about 5-10 days
there may be a small surcharge for processing the order

you will have to register first but once you have done that you can keep going in the online shop and buying sheets when you need them.

you can only buy special edition stamps online
but they are just the same as the standard
first class stamps only with fancy pictures on

"With the Airmail Printed Papers service, you can get a cheaper rate when sending books, magazines, newspapers, leaflets and pamphlets abroad. You can include a letter relating to the contents, but no other personalised correspondence. When using this service, please write ‘PRINTED PAPERS’ in the top left corner on the front of the item you are sending."

Autograph requests dont come under this section, so you need to use regular Airmail Letter.

Thanks for everyone's help. I think I'm on the right track now.

For the guy who asked where I got them, I ordered them directly from the Royal Mail website. The 3 books of 12 stamps each I ordered took just a tad over 2 full weeks.

Hmm... Been trying all day and keep getting this message after the "Processing Credit Card" page: Sorry, your request could not be processed.

I think maybe it has to do with how I entered my address in the billing info. If they offer shipping outside of the UK, even just for "collectable" stamps, they should have an option for USA formatted addresses. Could you provide a little insight on how you entered your address into the form?

Hi,

I always send International Reply Coupons in every letter that I send internationally, although I cannot get these in the Channel Islands I now order form a large post office in London.

They are holding 40 IRC for me to collect when I fly to London next.

This means that one IRC pays return post for anything.

IRC are hard to get but are sold inn ALL countries.

regards

Sean
