Via Venue question

I have been a member here since last fall, but have had no success at all. I have seen others getting their signed CD's back and personalized photos, but I have had absolutely no luck. I am thinking about trying to send via venue and maybe sending a CD to (for exmple The Marshall Tucker Band or Lynard Skynard). I have read the post about sending via venue, but would so like to get something back and have no idea what I am doing wrong. Can any one please help and give me some detailed advise about how I can make this work and make it fun not the useless chore that it had become? Please, I am tired of getting nothing and do not understand why others get their stuff signed and I fail constantly.

Well you will technally never know if you have failed. If you had sent everything right, you could get them back anytime!! Well to give you some advice on VV I would need you to post where you are sending 2, and when the VV date is

-send it so it arrives a couple days before the event
-send with a SASE
-write a legit letter showing ur a big fan
-some artists are just very hard to get VV
-make sure the venue passes the fan mail along
