A few weeks ago i made a post asking about how many IRC's do i put in a envelope to America. now i got some useful advice but i am still a bit confused, I have sent several letters to stars in America since my last post with two IRC's in and up to today 6th-June 2010 have not received a reply to any of them and i used two IRC's in each totaling £2.80 (or $3.47).
now i did get two replies BUT not from any i sent with IRC's, one from a e-mail i sent to Tempany Deckert and the reply i got cost $1.24 for a A4 size envelope with a 10X8 (I Guess not good with guessing sizes)
the other was from Dallas Stars it cost $00.98 for a small DL size envleope (Small enough for a A4 sheet of paper to be folded 3 times)
so if Two IRC's work out to $3.47 why don't i get more replies from America than what i do, It could be the stars i want to contact don't send abroad.

Re: IRC Help 2
You have to be patient with your replies. Sometimes it can take 4 or 5 months, others times even a year or two. It depends on when the person gets the mail from their agent, when the agent forwards it, or when they tell them that they have mail; then the person must find time to read the letters and respond. Sending international also takes a little longer than sending within your own country.
It would probably be cheaper for you to use American stamps on your SASE's. I'd be glad to sell you some or maybe exchange for some £1 or £1.50 stamps of your own.

Two IRCs are worth $1.96 in the US.SilentEcho219 wrote:Two IRCs are exchanged in America for 88 cents (two stamps).
This is enough to cover a small-sized envelope (for 4x6 and 5x7 photos), but not enough to cover larger sizes (like 8x10). The other thing is that you sent your requests just weeks ago, and autograph requests generally aren't returned that fast. It usually takes a couple of months, sometimes even longer. Just be patient.

Re: IRC Help 2
thanks for both replies but i forgot to add even before the ones i sent since my last post on may 1st i had sent some since December 2009 i've used IRC's and so far have got one reply using them Dirk Benedict who i'd sent two 7x5 photos and a SAE.
i keep getting told different info regarding IRC's the first post i put i was told one/two IRC's would be enough just depends on the weight, now i'm told that two might not be enough money. all i want to know is what would be the cheapest way to give me more of a chance of a reply.

Re: IRC Help 2
Cheapest and most effective is to get the stamps for the country and just use those on the SASE. You can figure out of the postage to come back to the UK on the usps.com website, so you'd know how many stamps to put on.leigh cooper wrote:i keep getting told different info regarding IRC's the first post i put i was told one/two IRC's would be enough just depends on the weight, now i'm told that two might not be enough money. all i want to know is what would be the cheapest way to give me more of a chance of a reply.
You might get a quicker reply because the person wouldn't need to go to the post office to exchange the IRCs for stamps.
