I use 7x5 size photos (The ones i find and send) for my fanmail and was wondering how many stamps to use on the SAE From America. I know it depends on weight but i am not so good at working weights and measurements etc. so not sure but surely a envelope with two 7x5 photos in can't be to expensive.

Rather than give you a specific answer as per the number of stamps. I would suggest that you take your envelope to your local post office, have it weighed by the clerk and after a few times doing that you should have a good general idea of your cost. For example I have learned over time how many stamps to put on a specific sized envelope and how many to put on the SASE. I sometimes put a little too much postage on, but it is worth avoiding the trip to the post office now that I have a general idea of the cost.

If your envelope is a small one, about 6X9 or so, that and two photos all probably weighs about an ounce. Sending a small envelope that weighs up to an ounce to the UK from the USA is 0.98 in US stamps. Hope this helps.

It does help but also confuses me a little as i keep getting told different amounts one told me $2.08, you've told me 0.98, another has told me another amount so just a little confused now. i use 7X5 photos a C5 Envelope (I think a size smaller than a 10x7 Envelope and a piece of cardboard).

Sorry for the confusion. Let me see if I can clear it up before I head to work:
Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe a C5 is an envelope that is the equivilanet of a USA 6X9 (in inches) so it would be classified as a normal sized envelope to mail.
However, I am
guessing on the weight of the photos and with cardboard you might want to pay the 2 ounce price. For a letter sized envelope--the kind you mentioned--that is two ounces or under from the US to the UK will be 1.82 in US stamps.
I hope this cleared up things for you...if I have only confused you more, let me know and I'll try again.

When I figured the price for you at $2.08, the C5 dimensions technically went over the size of a regular envelope by something around a quarter of an inch. So I marked it as a flat, large envelope. That would explain the difference.
