New to Autographs 8x10's

I have never sent anything out to be signed by mail and I have some newbie questions.

I would like to start out with Star Wars movies and move on from there. Are there anyone that would be a pretty for sure success? I have looked at watto so I can pretty much get the addresses from there. Also wondering about 8x10's. I would like to print my own as that would save me a ton of money and allow me to send more out. Does printing your own cause you to have more failures? Is there anyone from Star Wars that I should stay clear from when sending my own prints? I was hoping for Amy Allen as she seems to sign alot and anyone else in the US.

The other question I had was about sending money? If I am sending the pics and self addresses stamped envelope should I be sending cash as well. I have seen on watto where some have and some haven't and in looking at some of the cast's websites they say the want like 10 bucks but if you didn't go on their personal site you wouldn't know that and on watto's it looks like it could go both ways.

Just looking for some guidance so my daughter and I have some success and I can justify the costs to my wife.

Thanks in advance.

Several of the Star Wars folks charge for autographs; they have websites where you can order from them directly (Warwick Davis, Tim Rose [Admiral Ackbar], Jeremy Bulloch, Dave Prowse, etc.).

James Earl Jones is a terrific signer, and he doesn't charge.

If I can find a decent size photo on the net, I order prints through Snapfish (4x6, 5x7, sometimes 8x10s) and they usually turn out fine. I tend to think if you're sending something there's a better chance you will get the autograph, as they aren't having to use their own. Others may disagree. Some will just return your photo unsigned.
