I've read some stickies on this board and I've read other sources on the web about this but I am still so lost. Please forgive my ignorance. :(
I live in the US and I want to send a letter as well as request an autographed picture from an actress in London. I've already written my letter.... and now I'm stuck. :roll: I barely use post on a personal level and I've never sent a letter to a celeb before, so I'm really at a loss here.
From what I gather, I need to send a SASE along with my letter inside an 8x10 envelope if I want a reply, which I do..
How much postage should I use on my envelope and what should I include on the SASE so they don't have to pay postage? I'm assuming I have to use US postage to send it there and UK postage for her to send it back...
I'm about ready to just throw in some american dollars in my letter cause I have no clue how to go about this. My local post office doesn't sell IRC's.
What should I do? :/

There are multiple ways of doing this (ranked by ease for recipient).

1. Stick British stamps on it. You could trade with British members here, try Autgraphs for Sale/Exchange.
2. Include IRC, try other local & bigger post offices.
3. Send English money. This is difficult, as our lowest note is a £5, and postage will be about £2 max, so you're wasting money.
4. Send dollars. Perhaps 4.
5. Send nothing. Responses more unlikely.

As for your letter TO the UK, taking it to your post office is easiest. You could also try the USPS website http://www.usps.com/prices/first-class- ... prices.htm

You can order IRCs online, right here:

Thank you both for the responses. Truly helped a lot. {??}
How many IRC's should I send? I think I read somewhere that 3 or 4 should be sent just in case.
