Yes, you can stick a stamp or put 1 or 2 $ in evenlope.
Italian stamps are no good for US return postage. You can look on eBay or trade with someone here. www.usps.com has a calculator so you can work out return postage to make sure you have enough stamps.
Or, as the other poster said, loose $ would be fine, i'd put $5 in to be sure.
