Is an IRC really necessary, US to UK?

Unread post by doctorchoo »

I remember a few years back when I sent a letter to Emma Watson, it didn't have an IRC and I still got a reply.

I want to send a letter to The Mighty Boosh, but I've read on here that if I don't send an IRC I might not get a reply?

I'm quite confused, sorry...

Yes, it is polite to send along an IRC to help pay for return postage. you can always send a couple dollars as well if you can't get IRC's. I do the cash method and have gotten many responses back. {up}

It also varies with different celebs, some will only reply if you send along the proper items (Photos Return Envelope & Postage) where as some others will send a photo, provide the envelope and pay for postage if you just send them a request.

Hope that helps! {up}

I've tried sending cash twice and didn't receive back from either person. To be safe, IRCs or buying international stamps are the way to go.

I send Pre-Stamped now (Got some US Stamps), but such as Jackie Chan, I just sent an SAE, and got his back the other day, he paid for postage.

I know it's considered polite, so I do try to include it in all my current requests, unfortunately I sent some to the USA a couple of months ago, didn't include return postage, really hope they come back (Tony Shalhoub to ICM and other Monk stars)

PBJ Management (The Mighty Boosh's agency) require a SASE for signed photos. (They keep stacks of pre-signed authentic ones on hand to send out in SASEs.) So yes, you will need to pay for postage somehow.
