can anyone tell me some of the best tricks to getting autos??? please reply

Everyone has their own little secrets but i dont think anyone is willing to share...Gotta figure it out for yourself but i can tell u tricks only help if the envelope gets in the right hands so this hobby is still at least 50% luck,20%skills and 30% fate. Dont ask how i came up with those numbers lol

Is there a "trick?" I just write a sincere letter to someone I admire/am a fan of. I don't write to someone just to get an autograph.

A lot of people would probably disagree with my philosophy on autograph collecting, but the way I look at it as is, I collect autographs of the celebs and people I admire. I don't care whos autograph it is, it only adds to my collection. Obviously, theres going to be ones I cherish more than others, but overall if you're a household name, i'd like to have your autograph. As much as I don't care about Dog the bounty hunter, I still have his autographed book.

There are no tricks. I see from time to time where someone has stated that they "tried an old trick, we'll see what happens," and nothing happens. And a few of these are attempts from two or three years ago.

Do your research. Fire up the ol' search engines and see what, if anything, you can find to write about. That's about as close as you'll come to finding a "trick."

Yep, what everyone else said is true. There is no 'Tricks' to getting signatures. You just need to be Sincere in your letter and provide the required items like Photos & SASE. Patience is another key, some requests take years for a reply and sending out more and more to the same person when you don't get a reply just back logs their mail even more and makes it less likely to get a reply.

Research is another strong point which you'll need to develop. Make sure who your sending to signs authentically and learn the differences between secretarial, autopen, pre-print and truly Authentic signatures of each person.

Sounds like a lot, but it's well worth it in the long run.

PATIENCE! (and i bold/ made bigger because thats a big one)

I know alot of people say patience is key but from my experience on average if you dont hear back within about 4 months you probably never will...I mean sure you will get some long after that and i have too but most after a certain amount of time u can pretty much write off...of course u never know but im just going by experience and averages. As far as the tricks there is methods that make your overall request more appealing for them to want to sign for you once they get it but no tricks to make your letter get to the person you are sending it to thats mostly timing,luck and fate!!!

well i have gotten some responses back after 3 years. and 4 months?? NO! i wouldnt believe anyone who says "98% of my successes came within 4 months.."
