Question About Postage?

Unread post by KrazyKollektor »

Hello! :) I am KrazyKollektor. I have used this site a few times and look forward to meeting all of you and posting frequently. I have got nearly all of mine in person so far.

That's my little introduction paragraph (considering it's my 1st post :D LOL). Anyways, I have just recently started to send TTM. I was wondering if some of you professional hounds out there can answer these questions? I apologise if they've been answered elsewhere.

I have only done "TTM" one time. I have received success but am wondering if there are better ways to do it.

I have noticed people say "include $1 dollar for postage". When I did mine, I went to the post office and they stamped $1.39. :? I included three 8x10 pics, a SASE envelope contained in the envelope I was sending to them.

1.Do I always have to include a SASE within the original envelope? Do they ever provide them themselves or does it reduce my chances?
2.Is putting a $1 stamp on mine and a $1 stamp on theirs okay if I just send a letter, one 8x10?

^^^ It won't let me type anymore but the last question is.

If I just send one envelope, can they provide their stamps and a manilla envelope if I just include a dollar bill?

Thanks a million,

Hey Dude! It's always best to include a SASE with every request. as well as Photos for them to sign. Most celebs are more apt to reply if you make it easy for them too.

If your sending 8x10 photos 9x12 SASE works great. You didn't mention if you lived in the USA or not, so I'm gonna guess that you do. $1.00 stamps on each envelope is fine. the reason the mailing envelope was more expensive was because of the other items like the letter and SASE. when they go to mail it back it will be lighter and cost less. {up}

Hope that helps!

Hey, Ryan!! Thanks so much for replying!! I do live in the USA. Well, see. I mailed off to someone in CA and I am from southern US and being new at it...I'll tell you the whole situation actually. I mailed to the Kardashian girls with three pictures, a letter, a envelope, and a SASE. When we went to the post office my mom told him to put "equal postage" so he put a $1.39 on each. Also, you can mail them from your home right? You don't always have to go to the post office. Sorry, I'm so new at this. :(

It depends on the weight. Your request cost $1.39 to send because three pictures would obviously weight more than one. For a single 8x10, it's better to use $1.05 in postage. And yeah, you can stamp it yourself and drop it into blue collection boxes. No need to go to the post office, unless you're unsure of the weight/postage.

Keep in mind the USPS postage increases scheduled for January 2011. The minimum amount proposed for mailing a flat (manilla envelope) is 92 cents for up to one ounce, one to two ounces will cost you $1.10. You can download a spreadsheet from the USPS site to check out the proposed increases for next year (it's on the lower left corner of the page). Also, it's always a good idea to include a little extra postage just in case they add something to your return.

Okay. :) So if I send a LOR, one 8x10, and a SASE...stamp $1.05 to the original envelope and the SASE? Sorry to be annoying. :(

Hey packrat, where did you find that information? I looked at the area you mentioned and I found no information about increases except in priority and express mail (and other extra stuff). Last I heard the government turned down the USPS request for a first class price increase. Just curious. Thanks!
I'm sorry, but I do not pass around my via venue addresses. I post the successes to show that there is an address available out there that works. Please do not request via venue addresses from me. Thank you!

I am always open to discussion on the authenticity of my successes.
