How Many stamps should i use?

OK
I want a Large addressed Envelope to be returned back to me with 2 10x8 photos inside from Us to the UK i have a number off $0.44c stamps how many should i put on this envelope 2 cover postage i weighed the envelope and it came to 85kg which i believe is just under 3oz....
Also if its a small envelope with just an index card inside to come back how many should i put on currently i put on 3 x 44c but i feel its too much?
can someone help please!!

Well, I normally use a 2/3 stamps to go to the US then 2 coming back. I will soon be sending out an envelope without an SAE to the US as I am purchasing some autographs. If you are really unsure you can take it to the post office and have it weighed, you will have to pay for the weight and they will give you the correct number of stamps.
If you don't have the time to go down to the post office you can check out the royal mail website. 2/3 stamps should be OK though. Yahoo Answers is will give you quick answers for people who live in the UK sending out to the US also.

85 kg is a lot
If it was 85 g, it is 2.998 oz... So rather count with three.
Calculate postage here>
http://ircalc.usps.gov/ according to envelope measurements and somebody will help you with the stamps.
An index card in small envelope *C6 , depending of course on the weight, should be covered by 3 stamps. Yes, it is waste of some stamps value, but two are not enough, I think.

85g yes sorry...it is a large envelope to fit 10 x 8 photos inside so if my stamps r 44c how many should i use on the sae

You will need seven (7) stamps if I counted correctly.

Use the calculator on USPS webpage and you can find out for yourself, if you have doubts.
