Hi steve8679,

It's difficult to say what the recommended shipping method is for this, as I done usually collect sports stars autographs but I'll do my best to help you. :)

Firstly, one of the most important things to do is to see if the person/people you are planning on writing to and sending baseballs to sign have any records of successes in the past. Some celebrities only occasionally reply and others simply don't sign at all. Of course, there are a lot of celebrities out there who are great with fanmail :) and others, who aren't so good but with practice, you can find ways of having letters reach them.

I'm not sure if you're wanting to send your request within the country you live? (I'm guessing the US) Or whether you want to send it internationally.. If I were you, I would either go into your local post office or check online at USPS.com for example, for postage prices.. For instance, you might find it cheaper to include a prepaid sachel/bubble mailer as a SASE or even to include some consealed cash for the celebrity to use when posting your baseball back. It's likely that whatever you have to pay to send the baseball to the celebrity, that it will probably cost the same for them to send it back to you (assuming they don't include anything extra).

I'm not sure if any of the was helpful, I hope it was. I'll try to track down a sports autograph collector and see if they can provide you with more information.. :)

Use a #2 bubble mailer to send and a #0 bubble mailer for the SASE. Postage will run around 2.50 or so (both ways). Take them to the post office and weigh them at the kiosk or ask a clerk to help you out. Use your address in both the send and return area of both envelopes so that if there is a problem, it will be "returned" to you by the post office. It would be a good idea to include a blue Bic, but don't expect to get it back. They are cheap anyway, so this shouldn't be a concern. Any other questions or concerns, check with your local post office.
