yes most people sign a big pile of photos when they are in their managements office so when people send a LOR they just send the signed photo, you could always try and send the poster and if they wont sign it they will most probably just send it back, always best to try though

good luck

You can always send your request along with the poster and ask them to sign it. Just remember that you may not get it back so if you're afraid of losing the poster then don't send it.
Also, definitely remember to include a SASE for return of the poster. If you're lucky, you'll get the poster back signed, but obviously no guarantees. Worse case scenario is that you'll never the see the poster or your request back again.
Good luck!

Many celebrities sign what their fans send them for signing. However, even if you send out your own photo/poster & mention in your LOR that you want it to be signed, some celebrities just sign their own photos. It's sometimes because of some security reasons or sometimes if your photo doesn't have enough, proper space for them to sign, they would have no choice but to sign on inappropriate parts like their faces, which would eventually cause them to cross-sign on their faces. Faces are the most common inappropriate parts to sign, in my experience. This case has happened to me twice, with their own photos signed instead of mine & apology letters not for signing mine(both of them mentioned that they didn't want to sign on their own faces).
So, just try, and see if they sign your own poster. When you get your SASE back and even if they signed their own one instead of yours, don't be depressed or something lol.

I'm always extremely happy whenever I get my SASE back, not depending on the fact they signed their own one. For me, the most important thing is the fact that my favorite stars have signed for me and sent my request back to me. Aren't you the same?

don't send posters to Katy Perry... I sent two, 6 months apart, they sent me an autograph back but not my posters... I've emailed them to see if they'd be willing to return them but to no avail.
you likely weren't sending to her but I figured I'd put in my feedback, hope it is helpful.
