After reading quite a bit about TTM submissions I sent out my first to James Earl Jones as it was said that he was almost a for sure thing and I didn't want my 10 year old daughter to be disappointed. one of the things that I had read was to use a sticky note to help the signer with things that you wanted personalized. Seemed like a good idea so I printed off the pictures at home and used sticky notes to mark them. What I didn't realize is that it was going to take 8 months to get a reply and when I received them the adhesive from the sticky notes had transfered to the front photo surface and of course it the one that you can really tell is the one that my daughter was waiting for.

Has anyone had any experience with removing adhesives from the surface of a picture without wrecking it? I have read that I could use a petroleum based stain remover so I tried goo gone on a bad printed photo and it left streaks on the surface like it reacted to the ink. If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it.

Sadly, seeing as you printed them from home anything you try to use on them to remove the adhesive will only end up destroying the photo itself. :( Your only option is to leave them the way they are and put them in a clear plastic holder to prevent the adhesive from getting stained by fingerprints.

I typically put my post-it notes on the back of the photos and hope they see them. You can always paperclip a piece of paper to the photo as well. {up}

Sorry to hear....I wouldn't recommend paper clipping anything to the photo. I've had players paperclip things to my photos and they crease the photo, especially with it going through the post office. Also, it seems small, but the ends of paper clips can actually scratch the photo. I know a lot of people send their photos in top loaders, and you could put the post it note on that. But you always run the risk of them signing the top loader! I hope this helped somewhat.

Thanks for the feedback. As sad as it is I am the one who did it and it was a learning experience.
