In my autograph journal, I have mailed requests to celebs as far back as 2005 & was wondering how long should I wait for an autograph before chalking it up as a failure?

According to a recent success on here, you shouldn't give up on them until at least 19 years!!!! I've got requests out since 2004 and who knows, I might see those again one day. Just a waiting game.

Thanks its just gets frustrating that is all and have you ever received any back that u sent out in 2004 recently?

It does get frustrating, I know that! I've not gotten any back from 2004 in quite a while. But I did get one last year that I sent in 2005.

The answer to your question (as Ryan said) is that there is always the possibility of getting a response. Frankly I have not received a success from a request older than 2 or so years in quite some time. But, I have had several more than a year old in the past month or so. I will also note the success (recently posted) that took 19 years. That is the exception, but it obviously happens.

yeah like ryan said do not give up. im still waiting for robert pattison to send me something and i sent his in 08 and 09 so i have been waiting a while but i got a little bit of faith i will get something back.
