To send a sharpie or not?

Unread post by peenit »

My question is, especially to those who have tried both methods, is do you send a sharpie when you are sending to the venue? If not, is it likely someone in their crew would carry one for autograph purposes? I tried it a few times but the letter becomes bulky and cost of stamp doubles. Plus thats alot of sharpies!

Your input it appreciated!

Britney Spears==>> 6 #1 albums. 2 diamond albums. 8 platinum albums. 400+ awards. 200M+ records sold. Britney has sold over 45 million records this decade despite only releasing three albums. Globally, Britney has more #1 singles than any other female artist except Madonna and Rihanna. "Oops!...I Did It Again" by Britney is the 5th best selling album of the 2000s decade worldwide. Britney is the only female artist to chart her first seven albums in the top two of the Billboard 200. Britney has achieved at least one #1 album in 3 different decades (90's, 00's, 10's). Britney is the first solo female artist from the 90's to reach 1 billion Spotify streams. Despite NOT even being a single, 'Tom's Diner', ft. Britney , has become Giorgio Moroders best-selling digital track. 2015 Billboard Awards ratings reached a 14-year high, with numbers peaking during Britney's performance. She IS the princess of Pop. I wouldnt because they always have something, worst case they sign in ballpoint pen.I only sent a sharpie once and she signed it with her own diff color sharpie anyways so i dont bother and it does make it bulky and could even potentially get broken and leak inside the envelope. Plus like you said sharpies cost about a dollar each so thats another expence right there.

I don't. Usually the person will have the right color sharpie that will look best on your picture {up} I always try to send a light colored picture though, just incase they only have a black sharpie lol. I'm always afraid of them signing it in black on a dark park of the picture. It's only happened a few times though.

I guess it depends on the situation.
I have in the past received autographs signed in pen and I hated it.
I resent to that person and asked to sign in marker, which she did.
But there have been times where I have included the sharpies myself.
For example, I wanted my TWISTED SISTER LP signed in PINK to match the artwork, so I enclosed a Pink Sharpie with my request and I got just that. There was another time where I sent a record with 3 girls on the cover all in different color dresses and I wanted them to all sign in the same colors as thier dresses so i included 3 markers and asked for just that. It didnt seem to be a problem, I got what I wanted. So I guess it depends on the situation.
