I'm sending to a UK address, and I live in the States. I have no way of getting to the post office to buy IRCs and my work, where I will be dropping the letter off to send, does not sell them...
Is sending cash okay? (How much should I send?) Have you gotten good results by sending cash instead of IRCs?
IRC or cash?

can't you find some IRC's? i'm from portugal and i had to go to 4 different post offices to buy it... but it's worth it, if you send cash (at least what i did) i might not see your things again...

Re: IRC or cash?
I don't send cash through the mail. That's my general rule, and the Post Office even advises against doing it. I've never tried it for an autograph request. that's because I've had bad experiences with sending a few dollars for other reasons.
And what currency would you be sending? All that gets confusing to me and I just pay the price for IRCs.

Thank you both for the feedback. I'll try and see if my friend can bring me to the post office soon then.
