Help with US Postage and TTM Signers

Unread post by locknloads »

Hi All

New to this forum
Live in UK [uk] and have been collecting for a while now but all UK signatures so far.
I am going to the USA mid October for a trip and was going to post some requests TTM while I was there to be sent back my return sase I enclose to me in the UK if I am lucky enough to get anyone to sign and send back.
My question is if I send a hardback a4 envelope enclosed in a normal a4 envelope with a lor and a couple of photos how much internally in the USA should I put value wise in u.s stamps to cover postage, also how much should I put on in u.s stamps to cover postage back to me in uk on the sase I enclose?.
Next who should I send to where I am 99% certain to get a reply (good signers)

Thank you all in advance for any help and I hope my questions make sense and do not sound like a load of gibberish lol

You shouldn't send to someone just because they'll reply. That makes no sense. Write to people you like and admire.
I mainly collect voice actor and Disney related autographs-Any questions with Disney successes/addresses? Feel free to PM me!

You need to weigh (in ounces) and measure your items, then go to usps.com to calculate the prices.

It is a little daunting on there, but once you get the hang of it you will be fine.

Investigate using a piece of card cut from a fairly thin box in an A4 envelope for return instead of board backed envelopes - it will be almost as sturdy, but a lot lighter thus reducing the amount of return postage. Plus, the US have another category of postage which covers whether the envelope bends easily or not. A board backed envelope doesn't, but a piece of card inside is fairly flexible while offering a similar degree of protection.

As Kimmylee says, you need to check the weight against the envelope size on the USPS website.
