I just learned about this site, and want to get started collecting some autographs. I've been reading some posts about how and what to send...and if I understand correctly, I can send a letter to the celeb that I want an autograph from(using a current address) along with a self stamped/addressed envolope, requesting an autographed photo.

If this is at all incorrect, half correct or what have you...please leave a comment or two, with thoughts and ideas.

Yupperdoodles! you've pretty much got it covered!! make sure and search beforehand to see if the person you're sending out to will provide the photo or if they require you to send one in order to get an autograph. most will send 8x10's, but their are a majority of celebs who ask fans to send items for them to sign.

I would also put a piece of thin card in the SASE to stop the photo bending

I don't send a picture... almost never. I have sent index cards, and a picture once or twice. So you should be fine ;)
