I have no problem paying for an autograph from a celebrity, especially if they are an older veteran of classic television and movies (any royalties they would have received would have long run out). I have noticed that a great many of these types of celebrities have their own websites now through which one can order an autographed photo.
Since one is paying for the autograph and the sites generally state that so-and-so will sign (sometimes even personalize) an autograph for you, I would assume that the signatures are authentic.
However, as it is dangerous to assume, I would like to know from anyone who has ordered from a celebrity website: have you ever received a preprint, autopen or another version of a non-authentic signature from a celebrity's official site?
