Typed or Handwritten?

Unread post by moonlight »

What do collectors favour here. Typed or Hand written letters. It would be interesting to know what the celebrities prefer and which of the two ensures a reply to the collector.

I handwrite my letters only. Even if it does hurt my hands after a letter. Ugh.

I would feel odd if I sent a typed letter. In my opinion I would think the celebrity would think they are dealers and if they don't have time to handwrite a letter why would they give time to sign a photo? Several years ago someone typed a letter to Danielle & Kay Panabaker - when Danielle & Kay wrote back they said at the beginning of their letter something to the effect of 'We didn't handwrite our letter because you didn't have the time to handwrite yours' & from what I remember they never sent a signed photo.

Handwritten, even if it can get tiring if you're writing to someone you truly admire and have a lot to say. I feel like it comes off as a lot more personable and honest, and I know that when I receive letters/cards, I much prefer the trouble that goes into putting pen to paper as opposed to tapping away at the keyboard. :)
Most wanted: Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Tom Hardy, Julianne Moore, Stephanie March, Michael Fassbender, THG cast. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Handwritten...Its MUCH more personal and the celebs like it better too!
Britney Spears==>> 6 #1 albums. 2 diamond albums. 8 platinum albums. 400+ awards. 200M+ records sold. Britney has sold over 45 million records this decade despite only releasing three albums. Globally, Britney has more #1 singles than any other female artist except Madonna and Rihanna. "Oops!...I Did It Again" by Britney is the 5th best selling album of the 2000s decade worldwide. Britney is the only female artist to chart her first seven albums in the top two of the Billboard 200. Britney has achieved at least one #1 album in 3 different decades (90's, 00's, 10's). Britney is the first solo female artist from the 90's to reach 1 billion Spotify streams. Despite NOT even being a single, 'Tom's Diner', ft. Britney , has become Giorgio Moroders best-selling digital track. 2015 Billboard Awards ratings reached a 14-year high, with numbers peaking during Britney's performance. She IS the princess of Pop. Handwritten - it's more personable. Sometimes typed letters can give the wrong impression (i.e that you're a dealer).

I have been writing with my hand though it can become very tiring if you want to write to many stars. But my younger brother so rightly said just now "NO PAIN NO GAIN ". The response is also good to hand written letters. If we type the stars may think that they are dealing with someone high and mighty asking them for autographs.

My hand writing is horrible...but if I'm sending out only 1 or 2 at a time, then I'll hand write a letter. I do mass mail baseball cards once or twice a year where I'm sending out 50-100 at a time...then I just use Mail Merge and create a standard small note to go along with the card and SASE. I hand sign my name to all of the notes.

I handwrite all of mine-it just seems much more personal and it seems like you put more time and effort into the request.

i guess depends on my letter.. and who im writting to and how much time i have .. most of mine have been 50/50 typed or by hand..

my handwritting gets so bad that its un readable probably worse then a doctors hand writting..

as of right now ive gotten about 10 responses from typed letters and none from handwritten.. even one of the Hunger Games cast members that got a typed letter wrote back saying that when she was younger she had to type out a fan letter too..

no matter typed or written every letter i sign with my everyday signature..
