I go to the post office every once in a while and stock up on stamps. Then when I have a request ready, I weigh it with my kitchen scale and look up on the usps.com site to see the exact amount and put the right stamps on the envelope. Presto! Ready to mail! That saves me time and money since I don't have to go to the post office very often.
I know basic things by heart (I can send a 9X12 SASE in a legal size envelope with my letter and it is still the basic US to US price of .45; Canada/Mexico is .85 and Europe/Asia is 1.05, etc)

What about Internationally? Wait, can you put regular postage on International 9x12 envelopes?

Sorry for the confusion; let me see if I can explain:
I am in the US and I usually write to celebrities in the us. That is what the .45 stamps are for (US to US). If I send to someone internationally, I need more stamps on my envelope
TO them (Canada/Mexico is .85 and Europe/Asia is 1.05 for normal sized envelopes one ounce and under).
On the SASE the celebrity sends BACK from whatever country they are in, it must be THEIR countries stamps. Sometimes I have their stamps and put that on the SASE, other times I have used IRCs and other times I just leave the envelope unstamped and hope they will pay for the postage.

On the envelope FROM the US to Europe/Asia is is 1.05. The price went up in January.
I hope this helped.

I'd be glad to help you if you have any more postage questions. Just pm me or post.

I usually buy stamps from a stamps automat (or from the post office). I've also ordered them online (international stamps). I've also printed out stamps when I was in a hurry or didn't have the time to go buy them.

Thanks guys for your help. You say you sometimes buy International postage online. How do you do that? Thanks!

I meant I buy international stamps online from German online shops (I order, pay and then have them sent to me).
