Is the c/o necessary?

Unread post by starreyes »

When you are writting an address, say one like this:

Zac Efron
c/o Gold/Liedtke & Associates Talent Agency
3500 West Olive Ave., Ste. 1400
Burbank, CA, 91505

Is there any reason why you can't just write:

Zac Efron
3500 West Olive Ave., Ste. 1400
Burbank, CA, 91505

I mean, would it still get to him if you didn't? I don't see any reason why you wouldn't other than to just save time or something, and it wouldn't even save too much time, so it's pretty much just lazy not to, but if you didn't would it get there? I have never left it off, but if anyone has and a reply has come back would you let me know? I'm just curious. :D Thanks. :D

Yes it is necessary to include the "c/o Gold/Liedtke & Associates Talent Agency". There was a recent incident when a board member wrote to Marc Bulger via. the St. Louis Ram's address. He only wrote:

Marc Bulger
One Rams Way
St. Louis, MO 63045

The result was a RTS.

The proper address should have been:
Marc Bulger
St. Louis Rams
One Rams Way
St. Louis, MO 63045

Its amazing what a difference it can make.

Hope this helps!
