Hi there,
As many of you know I've been looking desperate for some stamps from the UK. I've found someone to purchase them for me, we just don't know what kind to get. Can someone help me out- I think we've determined they should be the first class mail ones but we aren't sure how much they are (the purchaser says there's different types of first class mail) so if someone could explain to me what they use to send stamps from the UK to the US I'd be very appreciative!
Thanks!

when sending via airmail from uk to usa it goes buy the weight of the item
so if you check the weight of what your sending then you can work out the cost of postage

Do you know how much the stamps cost though? I simply need to tell him how many of what type of stamp I need him to purchase for our trade.
I think I could guess how many I would need (for one 4x6 in a standard envelope I couldn't imagine using more than 1 or 2)

1st class are worth £0.60
2nd class are worth £0.50.
You need the ones which say 1st/2nd, not Large.
Airmail is expensive from the UK, you'd need to weigh your return envelope with picture in, convert the weight to grams and input
here
You'd need at least 2 1st class stamps for a 6x4 at a guess.

Thank you! I've decided to just purchase the £1.50 first class stamps and put those on my pictures to have guaranteed postage!

Great idea

That way if it takes awhile to come back, and the prices go up (April usually), you'll be in with a good chance of still having enough postage on there
