Hello,

I wondering if anyone else buys USA stamps on Ebay? If so, who do you buy from?

Also, is there an expiry date on stamps? I see lots from 1988 etc Would they be ok to use?

Thank you very much

Stamps do not expire...
But You will probably be paying a premium for the older stamps as they are collectibles for the most part.

bri sells stamps here on the forum.
or if she is unable to get back to you fast enough I would be willing as well.

If you buy USA stamps online, then get US Forever stamps. They keep their value forever even if the price of stamps goes up.

I'd also be willing to sell you some forever stamps...or US airmail/international stamps (they are $1.05 a piece and then you know without a doubt...unless you're sending like 2 8x10's-then you need extra postage that it will get back to you)

I currently traded with people for both...and I have IRC's so I don't really need to trade for any UK stamps but I am absolutely willing to sell them to you. They're $9 US dollars for book of 20 Forever stamps so I'd charge you $10 US (covers the international stamp I use to send them to you)

You have to put roughly 3 forever stamps on an autograph-or at least I do because it costs 98 cents to send 1oz and the forever stamps are 44 cents a piece (two only gets you to 88 cents)

You will get 6 uses out of the forever stamps--6x3 is 18 out of 20 stamps OR you can buy as many international ($1.05) stamps at you would like (8.40 for 8 stamps that you will get 8 uses out of)

Hi everyone,

Thank you very much for getting back to me. Ok I live in the UK. So for my SASE coming back to me from the USA, how many stamps do I use? And Like Anglophile mentioned, Would I use US Airmail/international stamps?

Thanks everyone.

Just need a little more advice before I take the plunge in purchasing

Sorry if I wasn't clear before...I tried my best....here's another explanation:

you can use two types of stamps to send things to the UK:

forever stamps: they are worth 44 cents (and will never be worth any more or less). They usually have liberty bells or flags on them (I've been getting a lot of flags lately). It's what we use in the United States for average postage for simply sending something a few miles or to another state so they sell these at our local supermarkets and such. Regardless of the picture they are worth 44 stamps forever (get it?) no matter if the postage rate changes. So because they are worth 44 cents you can stack as many as you'd like on the envelope as long all together the postage adds to the price you need to pay. http://www.stamps.com/usps/forever-stamps/

Forever Stamps can be put on any sort of mail going out of the United States...to get to England from the USA you would need 3 or more Forever Stamps on your SASE

The other way to send things from the United States to England are "International" or "Airmail" stamps. They are specially sold at the post office and cost exactly $1.05. I prefer using these because 3 forever stamps is actually over paying the postage (3 forever stamps is sending $1.32 in postage when you only need about 98 cents but because forever stamps are 44 cents you can't use just 2!) In the long run it becomes much cheaper to buy international stamps for me to send things to England.

I hope I explained myself better this time. Good luck!
