Sorry if this is in the wrong area; I'm new here.

I would like to send to Jeremy Irons in London. How do I go about doing this? I've read about "IRC's", but I've also read that they don't work in the UK anymore. Could someone please give me a step by step process? I've been researching for 45 minutes and can't figure it out.

(I live in the U.S. by the way. So I'd be using U.S. stamps to get there, but what do I use on the SASE?)

I'm in the same exact situation. I'm a huge fan of Jeremy Irons, but I have know idea how to get my fanmail there. When my mom was in the military, she would send me letters from Iraq. She would put some kind of weird postage thing on them. I'm not sure if it was Iraqi postage or an irc or what. I will be watching this forum closely for an answer to your question. Sorry I couldn't help you out, but i'm in the same boat.

when i send to the potter actors in the uk.. i normally put a few bucks in the envelop to cover for postage

Do you send U.S. dollars?? And has that worked?? As in, does it put a hassle on the actors you are sending to??

On Royal Mail's (UK Mail) website, it says "Please note: from 31st December 2011 - we no longer sell International Reply Coupons for use in overseas destinations." So yeah, I would send money to cover postage.

yup basically i put about 2 or 3 usd in the envelop. that way they can either exchange it to their currency or keep the money in case they ever come to the us.

Wait but what kind of postage goes on the SASE? Like do their secretaries carry stamps on hand or do I need to put UK stamps on myself?

You can send money or use UK stamps

I write a lot to the Potter Cast in London and I just put an LOR, SAE, and 1 or 2 pictures. The actors dont seem to have a problem with paying postage and I have gotten quite a few replies from them

Here in the UK we can no longer buy IRC's to use overseas.

However anyone wishing to send an IRC to the UK has nothing to worry about because they are still accepted for exchange.
