Sharpies

Hey everyone. I am not new to collecting, but I had a question: do you send your own Sharpie in the envelope, or do you leave it out? I have always sent a silver or black Sharpie to make it easier for the athlete to just open the envelope, sign, stuff, and return, but here lately, they haven't been returning my Sharpie 
the nerve! (just kidding, I could care less). I didn't know what the "trend" was though, if most people send their own Sharpie, or if they make the singer fend for themselves?
