Hi! Many times for my autograph collecting, I send computer printed pictures on normal paper for celebrities to sign. Is this a waste? The pictures all come out good...
Thanks!

Not everyone has access to photo quality paper. I had to send a bunch of printer paper photos out and I've gotten them back just fine. Only thing to watch for is it make sure it doesn't get ripped in transit. That happened to me and an autograph from Clive Revill, who was in Star Wars. The picture ripped right down the middle, luckily it didn't get the autograph.
Otherwise, do it!

This is fine, I used to send pictures that I printed and glued on index card and 99% came out absolutely perfect!

IMHO a total waste!
Especially if its a really popular celeb/athlete.
Find something else to send them.

coachk28 is right that the print paper photo would be a complete waste from a collectable point of view. If you ever decided to trade or sell that autograph nobody would want it when they could easily get a nicer photo paper copy of it.
If you are just collecting for "fun" like many people on here "claim" they are doing and you don't care that your autograph is worthless to everyone but you then go for it. It isn't a waste if you are happy with it and don't care if it won't be a collectable.

SWfan27, it is my experience that some celebs don't mind if you send them computer printouts and they'll sign them, but some mind big time and won't respond at all, so I personally decided to stay away from them.

I've had a lot of success sending out pics printed on printer paper. I don't care whatsoever about the "worth" of the autograph; I collect because I enjoy the people I write to. If anything, I would think sending a printed photo would show the celeb that you're not in this to try to make money off the person; you just genuinely like their work and would like an autograph of him/her.
I've seen lots of people send index cards to be signed. Personally, I've never understood that; I'd rather have a picture/printout. It's really to each his own!

I'm curious...who have you had experiences with where it's been clear that they minded signing a printout?
