Number of stamps on rigid envelope?
Hey there, just wondering for rigid envelopes (9x11.5) how many stamps do you guys put on it? I usually put 3 on and it seems to be working fine, wondering if anyone gets away with 2, or puts 4 on to be safe. All of this is within the US by the way. Thanks and lets hear it!

Your post office must be very nice. 1-2 8x10's in a photo mailer is 5 stamps within the US.

Re: Number of stamps on rigid envelope?
Really? Ive been using the lighter Duck ones, and I have not once had anything written on any envelope saying that it was undermarked or RTS due to postage. I put my address on both slots on the return envelope so either way it'd come back to me, but I always thought 3 stamps was too little lol.
Re: Number of stamps on rigid envelope?
I am not sure if I had tried the duck ones but all the ones I have used weigh 4.2 oz to 4.8 oz with 1-2 8x10's in them. The rate for that is $2.29, So with 5 stamps it is still short by .04 cents. I would keep doing 3 stamps if you can get away with it

I used to get away with 3 stamps, sometimes I still do, but times have changed. I usually have to get everything weighed now

Hi:
I have found that when sending an 8 x10 with the hard plastic holder, LOR and SASE it is $1.75 to send and $1.50 on the SASE to get it back. I had both envelopes weighed with the contents that were going out and with the contents coming back. No returns for lack of postage.
I have sent to Jerry Koosman, Gaylord Perry, Cam Neely, Whitey Herzog, and Al Kaline using this postage combination without any problems.
I have a mix of stamps with different values to keep from over paying.
In my case, my postman does bend the holder to make it fit in my mailbox. It is worth the expense to send the "bendable" plastic holder.
