Hi, I am new to this website and sending out fanmail. I am just deciding on the best envelopes to use before i send out fanmail but i have a few questions if someone would be kind enough to answer :D

First of all, I have a few pictures printed out but i have already laminated them - Do you guys laminate pictures before or after? As i'm worried they may smudge if the person i am sending them too does not use the correct pen.

Secondly, i was thinking of using the carboard envelopes with the "do not bend" already on them - I have been told that because of the weight and thickness of these, i will need large specialised stamps from the post office instead of your regular 1st class that i already have - is that correct?

Lastly, i would like to ask: how many stamps do you normally put on fanmail? Would 2+ speed up the delivery process?

Thanks for reading! :) [uk]

The process I usually take is I print my photo on a high gloss photo paper, always 8x10 size. I then put the photo in a top loader hard plastic case. I add my own pen to the envelope to ensure they are using the color (usually black, silver, sometimes blue) that I want. I then go online to usps.com and print off shipping labels for the package to get there and to come back. It usually costs about $4 or so for each. I print off the shipping label and tape them to their respective envelopes. I then write of letter of request, print it off and put it in the envelope. I use a soft bubble lined envelope I get from Walmart and write "Do Not Bend" on both of the envelopes and I haven't had a problem yet (knock on wood). Hope this helps! Good luck!

Thanks for your help :)

Do you buy large stamps for your envelopes? I've been told i need large stamps for A4/A5 envelopes because they are larger than regular letter envelopes and the fact i will be adding carboard as it is cheaper than cardboard envelopes

I don't use like a traditional stamp. I print off my labels from usps.com, they are about half a sheet size. It has been working out really well for me. It lets you save addresses in your address book too so if I want/need another signature, instead of spending time looking up the address, I just get it from my address book again.
