You should write on the envelop something like "Hold until DDMMMYY for John Doe" and send about a week in advance so it gets there before the date. Weather or not the intended recipient receives your letter or not is up to the venue if they want to hold it and pass it on or not. As far as what to send, I would just send what you normally do, something to get signed (photo, card, ETC) a SASE and LOR. You will want to research the venue too on this site to see if anyone else has had their items passed on or if they were RTS or worse just thrown out.

I concur completely.
To SWFan 2 your biggest issue will be with the actual venue your sending to. Otherwise treat it just like any other LOR (the only thing different you must do is include something to be signed). I send for example a fan LOR, SASE.& photo to be signed & that's it. If able look up the venue here to check & see if its friendly to passing on or holding letters for the celebrity. Just give yourself at least a week to get your package there & hopefully a day or two after the event you'll receive your item signed & we can all celebrate your success!!
