OVER two yr waiting time..

Unread post by ehenvie »

So about two years ago I found this site and I wanted to get as many autographs from Disney Celebrities as possible for my daughter before the greats passed away.

I sent some too

Pinocchio-Dickie Jones
Lucille Theresa Bliss -Anastasia( she now passed away)
Windy & alice voice over by kathryn beaumont

As well as some others and I never got one back. I sent everything that was suggested on this site.

I've seen others have success before and after me using the same mailing address.

Do you usually send a short letter requesting an autogaph?

I will try again this yr and hopefully get someone back but any feedback or suggestions would help! :)

Thank you
Alex

You say you "sent some", so I need to ask: some what?

Yes, I am always writing a more or less short letter along with my request. It's polite and shouldn't be too hard if you write to people you are into. Don't write 10 pages, but do not just say "send me an autograph" either.

ALWAYS enclose an SASE if you want a reply.

Send something to sign.

Be patient.

Browse this forum for more info and actually all the info I just gave you.
If you need German stamps or any help with the lingo, feel free to PM me.
I may very well be interested in trading for stamps from your country (unless I don't need them!).

The wait is probably the most annoying (and most exciting) part of the hobby. You do need to be patient, although if you do you feel your mail got lost, misplaced or ignored you could always send again. I've seen some requests take as long as 9 years before they finally return signed.

Did you send photos? Did you send a SASE? Some celebrities don't even bother to reply - or just give you a pre-print or secretarial - if you don't send your own photo.

When I started collecting I sent short letters, just stating my name, age and state I live in. Then I told the person why I liked their movies/music/whatever, or what I liked about them, or something that made me like their work in the first place. Then I requested the autograph, and ended it with something like "Thanks for reading this short note - have a nice day!" Nowadays I try to elaborate on all of that and try to put a lot more effort into my letters and make it fill up at least a page. How long does yours have to be? I think as long as you say what you feel and want to say it really doesn't have a limit - just don't make it sound like you're just want their autograph, and nothing else.
